INTELI in the CITIES Final Conference - Creativity and Partnership for Cities’ Urban Regeneration
INTELI will participate in the Final Conference of the CITIES project that will take place in Klaipeda (Lithuania) next June, 15. The conference aims to explore how creativity and partnership can be used in the regeneration of the European cities' urban spaces. The creation of local and international partnership networks is the essence of creative and cultural industries since it encourages the spread of innovation and productive collaboration and also brings together the key sectors of knowledge society: education, business, production and art. Partnership transforms competition into cooperation by opening up world markets.
The conference, which is held as the final event of the INTERREG IVC project "Creative industries in traditional intercultural spaces" (CITIES), will be illustrated by the best practices of creative business and creative networks across Europe. CITIES project partners will share their experiences in encouraging creative intervention in their urban areas, in developing creative clusters and supporting the emergence of creative entrepreneurs. They will also share ideas how former industrial heritage can be repurposed to form cultural identity in urban areas.
INTELI will make a presentation on "Creative Urban Regeneration: the Case of Portugal".
The beginning of Klaipeda creative incubator "Cultural Factory" reconstruction in the former Tobacco Factory will be celebrated during the conference.
