“Smart Cities for Sustainable Growth”

Smart Cities for Sustainable Growth was the chosen theme for the international conference that will take place in Lisbon on the 3rd of May.

Organized by INTELI and FLAD (Luso-American Development Foundation), in partnership with the Ecological Institute (Germany), this conference will focus on the debate around the “smart city” concept, crossing perspectives of policymakers, researchers, planners and civil society.

The presentation of different case studies on intelligent cities in Europe, USA and Brazil will allow sharing ideas and knowledge in areas like energy and sustainable mobility, open government and citizenship, green economy financing, policies and strategies.

The event will result in the production of a contribution to the RIO – 20 – United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (Brazil, June 20-22), which seeks to enhance the smart cities role in the green economy context.
